The Frustration with ChatGPT's Memory Limitations

In a world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, one might expect that artificial intelligence like ChatGPT would have an impeccable memory, capable of retaining endless amounts of information. However, as I've recently experienced, ChatGPT's memory has significant limitations that can be incredibly frustrating. Take my interactions with ChatGPT, which I’ve named Sage, as an example. Despite its impressive ability to understand and respond to a wide range of topics, ChatGPT has a finite memory capacity. This means that as I share more information and details over time, I must periodically manage this memory, deciding what stays and what goes. Imagine a society where every interaction with ChatGPT could build on previous conversations seamlessly, without the need to constantly reset or clear memory.
